The Bahamas: Why You Should Do Your Vacation Here

The Bahamas, a series of over 2,000 cays and 700 islands, is a great tourist destination due to its beautiful beaches. The Grand Bahama, Paradise Island, the Island of New Providence and the capital city Nassau are the places which welcome the most number of vacationers. Outdoor Aquarium

Beaches

Andros Island covers the third biggest barrier reef in the world. This barrier reef bubbles with over 100 miles of formations of corals plentiful of fish. Divers and snorkelers are attracted to Central Park with its huge stands of Elkhorn coral. This particular coral can grow in water for a length of 15 feet. Furthermore, divers can explore several blue holes in this place with a depth of 100 feet. If you feel like snorkeling, you can check out several snorkeling programs in the area. These programs provide various dive expeditions as well as snorkeling trips.

Dolphin Encounters

Dolphin Encounters, a three-mile travel from Nassau to the Island of Blue Lagoon, is the best place to encounter several endearing bottlenose dolphins. At Dolphin Encounters, you can kiss these charming mammals in low waters, swim with them, or watch them from the waterfront. UNEXSO (Underwater Explorer Society) presents same program on the Island of Grand Bahama. However, an age limit of 16 and above is required to play with dolphins on the open water.
