New Delhi - 7 Days Itinerary

Synopsis

Delhi is the capital of India. It is an important place for politics, diverse culture and a vital place of business and trade. It is the heart of India. Delhi is situated at the bank of Yamuna. It is a city of Mughal art and architecture. The summers are very hot and winter is too cold with heavy showers in monsoon.

Day 1





Highlights: Jaipur

You can start with Jaipur, which is quite near from Delhi. It will take 5-6 hours from Delhi. You can go by train or by bus service. Jaipur is known as Pink City for the red sand stone. Jaipur is famous for traditional palaces, museums, forts, monuments, and grand markets, parks and gardens. The tourists will able to see Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jal Mahal, Jantar Mantar, City Palace, Nahargarh Fort, Birla Temple, Laxmi Narayan Temple, Sisodia garden, Doll's Museum, Ramgarh Lake, Jain Temple, Ram Niwas Bagh and others. The tourists can do lots of shopping from the Rajasthani market in Jaipur. Jaipur is the city of color, bravery, courage, heroism and entertainment. Day 2

Highlights: Agra

Besides Taj Mahal Agra is also famous for Agra Fort, Sikandra, Baby Taj, Fatehpur Sikri, Jama Masjid, Diwan-i-Khas, Marble Handicrafts Museum, Anguri Bagh, Akbar's the Great Tomb, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Buland Darwaja, Panch Mahal in Fatehpur Sikri are some very important places ion Agra.

Most of the tourists like to stay in Agra to see the beauty of Taj Mahal in moonlit night. Taj Mahal on the bank of Yamuna is really a moment that comes in a lifetime. Day 3

Highlights: Chandigarh

In Day 3 the tourists can explore different facts of Chandigarh which is quite near Delhi. Rose garden is the signature icon of Chandigarh. Rose Garden of Chandigarh is world famous and people from different parts of the world come here.

Sukhna Lake is another notable spot for the tourists. The tourists can enjoy different types of water activities like boating, canoeing and others. It is a trendy picnic spot and most of the tourists like to spend the entire day in this spot.

Day 4

Highlights: Haridwar/ Rishikesh

Haridwar and Rishikesh are very near from Delhi. The tourists will get bus and private cars from Delhi to reach haridwar. They can also take train from Delhi to reach Haridwar. It is the religious town of North India. The tourists will get the divinity in the air of haridwar. The morning bathing in the Ganges will clear all mental purgation and refresh the soul. Harki Pauri Ghat, innumerable temples, Ganges, Ganga aarti, Manasa Devi Mandir and the ropeway journey, Yoga ashram Patanjali are the main attractions of Haridwar.

Rishikesh is very close to Haridwar. You can start in the morning and it will take 30 mins to reach Rishikesh. In Rishikesh, you must visit the beautiful laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula. You can also take boat tom cross the Ganges. Triveni Ghat, Rishikund, Geeta Bhawan are some of the important places in Rishikesh. Besides these places, Rishikesh is famous for natural scenery and rich storehouse of natural serenity.

Day 5

Highlights: Red Fort/ Humayun's Tomb/ Qutab Minar/ Jantar Mantar/

Exploring Delhi is an experience in itself. Therefore, you can start with Red Fort. Shah Jahan the Mughal emperor found this place. It is massive building with many halls. The main building is made from red sand stone and it looks majestic in night. The tourists can go there in evening to see the Light and Sound show.

Hamida Banu Begam built Humayun's Tomb in the memory of Humayun. There is a beautiful garden in front of the tomb with water channels. Qutab Minar looks fascinating at any time of the day. It is a majestic monument and mark of Delhi lives. It is located at South Delhi. The tourists cannot miss the Iron Pillar when they are in Qutab Minar.

Jantar Mantar is another attraction in Delhi that captures the attention of the tourists. It is better to go Jantar Mantar in morning as the tourists will get the better understanding of sunrays, altitude, and many other astronomical facts. The scientists, historians and common tourists frequently visit the place. It is geometric in shape and shows the keen interest in astronomy and planets of the people of the time.

Day 6

Highlights: Purana Qila/ India Gate/ Lotus Temple/ Mughal Garden/

Purana Qila is an historical place constructed by Humayun and Sher Shah. The building is very gorgeous and marks the artistic skill of the builders of Mughal period.

Visit to India Gate is must for the Indians. The people of entire world visit the place. It is the largest war memorial in India and shows respect to the British Indian army. The Amar Jawan Jyoti is another interesting thing to see when you are in India Gate.

Lotus Temple is another notable place in Delhi and you can choose evening to visit there. The tourists from all over the world come here, as it is open for the people of different community. However, they have to maintain silence and peace inside the temple. Mughal Garden is a combination of Mughal and British style. It was built for Lady Harding. The tourists can visit this place in late evening and the garden is beautifully decorated.

Day 7

Highlights: Raj Ghat/ Connaught Place/ RashtraPati Bhawan/ Chandni Chowk

Raj Ghat is the burial site of Mahatma Gandhi. A black-marble stone has been erected from the ground and it is the place where Gandhiji was cremated. The place is beautifully decorated with different trees and plants. The tourists never like to miss this place when they come in Delhi. Connaught Place is the popular shopping area in Delhi. You will get into various markets to buy different interesting things for the tourists. Different handicrafts market, emporiums are there in Connaught place. Chandni Chowk is another interesting place in Delhi. The place remains populated throughout the day. It is the place from where you can buy different types of things of daily use, clothes, jewelries and others for the relatives and friends.

RashtraPati Bhawan is a massive building in Delhi. In past it was known as Viceroy's House. At present the President of India lives here. Hence visiting Delhi is a lifetime experience for the tourists.
