Kornati national park is situated in the middle Dalmatia, west of the Šibenik town. It consists of 89 islands, small islands and cliffs.

The mainland part of the national park contains less than 25% of the total area. It is privately owned. Other 75% is the sea ecosystem. Kornati are the densest archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea.

The national park can be reached by boat. You can be travel by your personal boat or organized by travel agencies.

Kornati islands are nautical paradise. You will test your nautical skills and abilities during sailing around the islands and cliffs. Swimming in the crystal and warm sea represents a huge enjoyment.

Except swimming, it is a great place for diving. Don't miss that experience! If you don't have a diving qualification, you can dive with mask and a snorkel. You will enjoy the beauty of flora and fauna in the Adriatic Sea. Without any doubt, you will experience an unforgettable adventure.

The national park is abundant with natural beauty and cultural heritage. The most popular phenomenon of the park is Krune. Krune are vertical cliffs of the Kornati islands which are turned towards the open sea. The length of entire crown of the Kornati archipelago is around 7 kilometers.

Except for its beauty, Krune is interesting because of its flora and fauna species. Rare species of organisms live above the sea. They are adapted to extreme conditions of life, strong blows of wind and sea, high concentration of salt, lack of water and strong sun. The submarine part of national park is rich with specimens of individual organisms.

There are a lot of lookouts. It is difficult to say which lookout has the most beautiful view. If you visit any of the lookouts, you will feel the excitement and joy.

The area of the park has 8 arranged and marked mountain trails. They lead to lookouts where it is possible to see the entire national park.

The incredible connection of men and nature is reflected on the modest but impressive buildings. One of the most interesting cultural attractions is dry stone walls. One of the basic characteristics of the dry stone wall is the orientation. Big islands are elongated and all of the walls are built from sea to sea.

The dry stone wall must be high enough because of the ewes. The height of the walls prevents the ewe to escape to someone else grassland. Width of the dry stone wall is protecting the wall against the wind.
